Rev. Andy Newell

Senior Pastor | andy@growingnewlives.org

Andy spent his childhood growing up outside of Louisville, KY where he came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as a result of the proclamation of the gospel as recorded in John 15:5. He moved to Charleston, SC in the fall of 1989 to attend The Citadel. After graduating in 1993, Andy began his ministry as a summer youth intern in Sumter, SC. While in Sumter, Andy met his wife, Kim, whom he married in the fall of 1995. Andy and Kim attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC from 1997 – 2000. After graduating with his Masters of Divinity, Andy received a call to become the solo pastor of New Philadelphia PCA Church in Quincy, FL.

He and Kim spent seven years ministering in Quincy, where they were blessed with three children: Murray, Caleb, and Anna Grace. In June 2007, Andy received a call to become the Assistant Pastor to Families, Youth, and Children at Trinity PCA Church in Orangeburg, SC. During his ministry there, Andy felt the call to pursue Church Planting as a ministry opportunity. Following his and Kim’s completion of the Church Planter’s Assessment Center in Atlanta, GA, Andy was introduced to the ministry at Covenant Community Church. By the grace of God and in His providence, Andy was called to become the Senior Pastor of CCC in April of 2010. He was installed on May 16, 2010.

As an under-shepherd of Jesus Christ, Andy is privileged to join God in what He is doing in and through the ministry of CCC as God advances His kingdom through the transformational power of His gospel.

Matt Francis

Music Director | mfrancis@growingnewlives.org

Matt was born in Paterson, New Jersey but made "southern by the grace of God" at age one when his parents moved to Lexington. His family began worshipping at Lexington Presbyterian Church (LPC) when Matt was 6 years old. There, he came to know the Living God and became a communicant member of the church. Coming from a musical family, instruments and singing were always a part of Matt's life but he began to seriously study guitar at age 8. Eventually, he was privileged to be a part of the worship team at LPC. During that time, he participated in several re-tuned hymn recording projects as both a performer and composer.

Now a student at the University of South Carolina, Matt has served as the music leader for Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) for two years and looks forward to continuing in that position. When Matt isn't playing music, his other interests include travel, kayaking, and a love of the culinary arts.

The Lord is good and she has been part of the CCC family ever since. “I love my work. It is very fulfilling to be a part of a body of believers who care so much for each other and the Lord’s work.

Scott York

Youth Director | youth@growingnewlives.org

Scott spent his childhood in Parsons, KS.  During a visit to the local McDonald's the course of his life changed.  While eating, a lady sat down and talked with his mom.  After ending the conversation, Scott discovered his family had been invited to church.

Scott attended Parsons Foursquare Church his entire time in Parsons.  He raised his hand in children's church at the age of 5 and asked Jesus in his heart.  This began a journey of becoming a really good Pharisee.  His church attendance was impeccable.  He served in a variety of areas with his major focus being the worship team.  Scott preached his first sermon at 16.  Upon graduation from High School, his next step was obvious.  Scott attended Central Bible College in Springfield, MO.

He has worked with youth in one capacity or another in Missouri, Colorado, and South Carolina.

Shortly after his arrival in South Carolina, Scott met Dawn, the women who would become his wife.  They married on May 2, 2003.  Their family was rounded out by 2 amazing girls, Olivia and Willow.

Scott and his family came to Covenant in October of 2009.  His Pharisee heart was melted by the gospel and he and his family were forever changed!   Since their first arrival at Covenant, God took both Scott and his family on quite a journey.  Following a brief hiatus beginning in 2014, that journey culminated with Scott and his family returning to Covenant in 2017.  Scott continuously says how good it is to be “home”.

Scott is looking forward to what God is going to do in the life of Covenant Community Youth and the lives of the young people of Red Bank!  He firmly believes “the best is yet to come!”
